[Reciprocal variability of Q-heterochromatin level in the human genome]

Q-band frequency has been studied in 57 subjects with identical subtotal Y-chromosome heterochromatin deletion and in 224 males with normal Y chromosome from the same ethnic group. Except for a significantly increased Q-band frequency in chromosome 3, no other differences between the two groups of individuals were revealed. The existence of reciprocal variability of Q-heterochromatin content in the human genome is suggested.
