    Summary

Congenital lymphangioma, a common childhood soft tissue mass, can be diagnosed using radionuclide pedal lymphangiography. This simple technique aids in identifying lower extremity lymphangiomas in pediatric patients.

    Area of Science:

    • Pediatric Surgery
    • Diagnostic Imaging
    • Vascular Anomalies

    Background:

    • Congenital lymphangioma is a frequent cause of soft tissue masses in children's extremities.
    • Early diagnosis is crucial for effective management of these vascular malformations.

    Observation:

    • A case study involving an eight-year-old child with a congenital lymphangioma of the thigh is presented.
    • The mass was located in the soft tissues of the lower extremity.

    Findings:

    • Radionuclide pedal lymphangiography proved to be a simple and rapid diagnostic method.
    • The technique successfully identified the congenital lymphangioma in the lower extremity.

    Implications:

    • This study highlights radionuclide pedal lymphangiography as an effective diagnostic tool for pediatric lower extremity lymphangiomas.
    • The findings support the use of this imaging modality for prompt diagnosis and management planning.
