Cytotoxic T lymphocyte associate protein-4 (CTLA-4) gene polymorphisms are linked to thyroid cancer development. Specific CTLA-4 genotypes correlate with altered gene expression and clinical markers, suggesting CTLA-4 as a potential susceptibility factor.
