Combining lumbar radiofrequency ablation (LRFA) and Activity Tracker-Informed Video-Enabled Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AcTIVE-CBT) shows feasibility for chronic low back pain (CLBP). AcTIVE-CBT significantly reduced disability, suggesting potential for combined treatment efficacy.
Area of Science:
- Pain Management
- Interventional Pain Procedures
- Behavioral Therapy
Background:
- Individual treatments for chronic low back pain (CLBP) offer limited benefits.
- Combining procedural and behavioral interventions may enhance treatment outcomes for CLBP.
Conclusions:
- Conducting a factorial RCT combining procedural (LRFA) and behavioral (AcTIVE-CBT) treatments for CLBP is feasible.
- AcTIVE-CBT appears to be an effective intervention for reducing disability in CLBP patients.
- Further research is warranted to confirm the efficacy of combined LRFA and AcTIVE-CBT for CLBP.
