Purpose of the Study:

  • To analyze the characteristics of patients treated for parathyroid carcinoma over time.
  • To identify prognostic factors influencing outcomes in parathyroid carcinoma patients.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective cohort study of surgically treated parathyroid carcinoma patients (2000-2021).
  • Assessment of demographic, clinical, laboratory, surgical, pathological, and follow-up data.
  • Focus on free-margin resection for suspected malignancy.

  • Seventeen patients were analyzed; 60% experienced recurrence (regional, distant, or both).
