Summary

Minimizing radiation hot spots and high-dose tissue volumes may improve outcomes for implant-based breast reconstruction after postmastectomy radiation therapy (PMRT). This study found higher hot spots in patients requiring explantation, suggesting a link between radiation dose distribution and reconstructive success.
