Xylazine effects on opioid-induced brain hypoxia

Xylazine worsens opioid overdose by causing prolonged brain hypoxia. This study in rats shows xylazine (XLZ) combined with fentanyl or heroin significantly impairs the brain's ability to recover oxygen levels.
