System and information quality do not directly impact job performance for correctional Technical Support Officers (TSO). However, perceived ease of use and usefulness fully mediate these effects, highlighting their importance in user performance.
Area of Science:
- Information Systems
- Organizational Behavior
- Public Administration
Background:
- The Correctional Database System (CDS) is crucial for public sector efficiency.
- Understanding user interaction with mandatory systems is vital for performance.
- Limited research exists on the impact of CDS quality on TSO job performance in Sumatra.
Purpose of the Study:
- To analyze the influence of CDS system and information quality on TSO job performance.
- To investigate the mediating roles of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness.
- To provide insights for enhancing user performance in public organizations.
Main Methods:
- Quantitative approach utilizing Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).
- Survey data collected from 118 correctional officers in Sumatra using purposive sampling.
- Statistical analysis to determine direct and indirect effects on job performance.
Main Results:
- Direct influence of system and information quality on job performance was found to be insignificant.
- Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness fully mediated the relationship between system/information quality and job performance.
- High-quality information systems positively influence user performance through perceived ease of use and usefulness.
Conclusions:
- Perceived ease of use and usefulness are critical mediators for system and information quality impacting job performance.
- Mandatory system implementation requires focus on user perception to drive performance.
- Correctional institutions should implement strategies like mentoring to foster positive CDS perceptions.
