Selection for increased egg mass under ahemeral light-dark cycles

Selection for an increased rate of egg mass production under a 21-h light-dark regime was successful in reversing the decline in egg weight which had occurred throughout the previous history of this experiment, while retaining the ability of the flock to lay eggs at an acceptable rate under this abnormal regime.
