Background:

Postpartum women experience significant physical and emotional changes requiring adequate information.
Identifying expected changes and potential complications is crucial for postpartum well-being.
Accessible resources are needed to support women after hospital discharge.

Purpose of the Study:

To develop the "Towards Motherhood" health app, providing evidence-based postpartum information.
To evaluate the usability and acceptance of the app among postpartum women.

Main Methods:

A validation study involved 80 participants: obstetric health professionals, technology professionals, and postpartum women.
App content validity was assessed using the Content Validity Index.
App appearance and usability were evaluated by technology professionals and postpartum women using validated scales, including the System Usability Scale (SUS).

Main Results:

Content validity achieved a 99% approval score.
App appearance received positive feedback with 92% favorable responses.
The System Usability Scale (SUS) score was 86.2, indicating excellent usability and acceptance.

Conclusions:

The "Towards Motherhood" mobile app is a validated and effective tool for promoting postpartum self-care.
Its evidence-based content, user-friendly design, and high usability establish it as a vital resource for women in the postpartum period.
