Summary

Postoperative hypophosphatemia after major liver surgery, including Associating Liver Partition with Portal vein ligation for Staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) and living liver donation (LLD), indicates increased liver regeneration. Monitoring serum phosphate levels can identify patients with insufficient liver regrowth.
