Combination therapy with tramadol/acetaminophen (TA) increases the risk of hyponatremia compared to acetaminophen alone. Extended-release tramadol/acetaminophen showed a higher incidence of hyponatremia than immediate-release formulations.

- Cautious prescription of tramadol and close monitoring of electrolyte levels are essential.
