Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the correlation between serum uric acid (SUA) levels and immune cell populations, specifically lymphocytes.
  • To explore the relationship between SUA levels and cytokine profiles.
  • To examine the in vitro effects of soluble uric acid on lymphocyte subsets and activation.

Main Methods:

  • Analysis of immune cell counts and cytokine levels in healthy individuals and those with HUA.
  • In vitro stimulation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells with soluble uric acid.
  • Flow cytometry to assess lymphocyte subset counts and activation.

Main Results:

  • Individuals with HUA exhibited significantly increased lymphocyte counts, particularly CD4+ T cells.
  • Elevated levels of interleukin-4 (IL-4) and IL-10 were observed in individuals with HUA.
