Area of Science:

  • Thoracic Surgery
  • Oncology
  • Pathology

Background:

  • Solitary fibrous tumours (SFTs) are uncommon neoplasms originating from mesenchymal cells.
  • These tumours typically exhibit a benign clinical course, with complete surgical resection being the primary treatment modality.
  • Intrathoracic SFTs can present with imaging findings that mimic malignant lung neoplasms, such as lung cancer.
