Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) worsens cardiac function in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients, even with normal ejection fraction. Three-dimensional speckle-tracking imaging (3D-STI) detects these early, asymptomatic abnormalities.

- 3D-STI is a valuable tool for detecting these preclinical LV abnormalities in ESRD patients.
