Differences in selected blood parameters between brachycephalic and non-brachycephalic dogs

Brachycephalic dogs show distinct blood parameter changes, including altered red blood cells and stress markers, compared to non-brachycephalic dogs. These findings may help develop objective blood tests for grading brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS).

- The brachycephalic phenotype is associated with systemic oxidative and metabolic alterations in dogs.
- Identified blood parameters warrant further investigation as objective indicators for BOAS severity.
