Summary

Persistent Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) colonization in early life is linked to worse atopic dermatitis (AD) outcomes and decreased filaggrin (FLG) expression. Maintaining FLG may prevent S. aureus colonization, impacting AD pathogenesis.
