    Summary

    A rare case of ureteral intussusception caused by a malignant tumor was documented. This first-time occurrence highlights transitional cell carcinoma as a cause of this rare ureteral obstruction.

    Background:

    • Ureteral intussusception is a rare condition, typically associated with benign causes.
    • Malignant tumors of the ureter are uncommon, and their association with intussusception is exceptionally rare.

    Observation:

    • A patient presented with weight loss and right lower quadrant pain.
    • Retrograde pyeloureterography revealed obstruction at the right ureterovesical junction.

    Findings:

    • The case describes ureteral intussusception caused by a low-grade papillary transitional cell carcinoma of the ureter.
    • This represents the first reported instance of ureteral intussusception secondary to a malignant ureteral tumor.

    Implications:

    • This case expands the differential diagnosis for ureteral intussusception to include malignancy.
