Cryolipolysis using the Cooltech® Define system effectively reduces localized fat. This noninvasive treatment demonstrated significant fat reduction with minimal side effects in a large patient study.
Area of Science:
- Dermatology
- Aesthetic Medicine
- Body Contouring
Background:
- Cryolipolysis is a noninvasive method for localized fat reduction.
- It selectively induces adipocyte apoptosis via controlled cold exposure.
- The Cooltech® device is a globally utilized system for this procedure.
Purpose of the Study:
- To assess the efficacy and safety of the Cooltech® Define system for localized fat removal.
- Evaluation across various body areas was conducted.
Main Methods:
- A retrospective, single-center study involving 287 patients.
- 1118 procedures were performed using Cooltech® Define on diverse body areas.
- Efficacy was measured by plicometry and photographic analysis; safety was monitored for side effects.
Main Results:
- Significant reduction in fold thickness by -69.91% (from 35.33 mm to 10.69 mm).
- Post-treatment pain reported in 1.70% of cases.
- One instance of paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (0.09%) was observed.
Conclusions:
- The Cooltech® Define device is a safe and effective nonsurgical option for localized fat reduction.
- The procedure is well-tolerated by patients.
- Cryolipolysis offers a reliable method for body contouring.
