Summary

Mutations in the MAPT gene cause neurodegenerative diseases like frontotemporal dementia and parkinsonism. A novel MAPT variant was identified in a patient with Parkinson disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, supporting tau dysfunction in multiple disorders.
