    Background:

    • Achieving reliable, short-term vascular access in conscious swine presents surgical challenges.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To describe a surgical method for implanting multiple vascular catheters in conscious swine.
    • To evaluate the patency and safety of these catheters for short-term blood access.

    • Implantation of multiple silastic catheters into major vessels (aorta, hepatic vein, portal vein, inferior vena cava, jugular vein) via laparotomy and cervical incisions.
