Unilateral breast enlargement due to localized fibrosis
Southern Medical Journal
|November 1, 1986
Abstract:
Unilateral breast enlargement in female adolescents is well documented, and is usually associated with fibroadenoma, cystosarcoma phyllodes, or virginal hypertrophy. We have described a rare instance of breast enlargement related to fibrosis. Whether or not this lesion is related to hormonal changes, as the other three entities are thought to be, or to trauma and associated necrosis is only speculative.
