Background:

The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) recognized the need to evolve its leadership structure.
A Task Force on Leadership Development was established in 2021 to address contemporary needs and future leadership pipelines.

Purpose of the Study:

To outline the governance changes implemented by the AMCP Board of Directors.
To detail the revised election process for AMCP Board members and officers.
To foster the development of future Board members and ensure effective leadership.

Main Methods:

Formation of a Task Force on Leadership Development in 2021.
Recommendations from the Task Force were reviewed and incorporated.
AMCP member input was gathered and considered.
Amendments to the AMCP governance model were made in early 2023.

Main Results:

A revised governance model was adopted in early 2023.
Significant changes were made to the election process for Board members and officers.
The new election process will be implemented for the 2024-25 election cycle.

Conclusions:

The updated governance model and election process aim to create a more diverse and skilled Board.
These changes are designed to support the long-term strategic goals and leadership continuity of AMCP.
