  • To evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes of tapered implants placed in the posterior maxilla using the osteotome sinus floor elevation (OSFE) technique.

  • Forty patients received 44 Astra tapered implants with OSFE, with a minimum bone height of 2mm.
  • The implant survival rate was 100% with significant bone gain (1.06±0.4 mm) and minimal marginal bone loss (0.32±0.29 mm).
  • Implant stability, measured by the mean implant stability quotient (ISQ), showed a significant increase from 67.55±8.07 to 79.62±5.08.
