The Australian Gonococcal Surveillance Programme reports increasing high-level azithromycin resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae. While ceftriaxone susceptibility remains high, widespread penicillin and ciprofloxacin resistance necessitates ongoing surveillance for effective gonorrhoea treatment.
