Background:

Premature infants require neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission, often leading to maternal-infant separation.
This separation can cause significant challenges for mothers and infants.
There is a growing need for effective parenting support programs for mothers of premature infants.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the effectiveness of an app-based parenting support program compared to an electronic document and a control group.
To assess the impact of these interventions on maternal confidence.

Main Methods:

A nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was used with 52 mothers of premature infants.
Participants were divided into three groups: app-based program, electronic document, and control.
Interventions were delivered over two weeks via a parent portal website.

Main Results:

Significant differences in maternal confidence were observed across the three groups (F = 7.354, p = 0.002).
The app-based program demonstrated a greater positive impact on maternal confidence.

Conclusions:

App-based programs offering information, emotional support, and community interaction can be effective educational tools for mothers of premature infants.
Professional counseling centers can leverage digital platforms to enhance parenting support.
Further development of such programs is recommended to support NICU families.
