Relationship between COMT Gene Polymorphism, Anxiety, and Pain Perception during Labour

The COMT gene polymorphism influences pain perception during childbirth. Women with the GA genotype reported less pain, while the AA genotype showed lower anxiety. Nitrous oxide provided anxiolytic effects, particularly in women with the AA genotype.
