Summary

A new myelin water imaging (MWI) technique, STAIR-EPI, effectively detects myelin loss in multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions and normal-appearing white matter. This method shows significantly lower myelin water fraction in MS patients compared to healthy volunteers.
