  • A unique case of diffuse jejunal lipomatosis in a 62-year-old man is presented.
  • The patient developed multiple complications over a 12-year period.

Findings:

  • Complications included small bowel obstruction, small bowel volvulus, jejunal diverticulosis, pneumatosis intestinalis, malnutrition, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, and intestinal dysmotility.
  • This case illustrates the complex clinical presentation and progression of the disease.

Implications:

  • This case underscores the need for further investigation into the natural history and pathophysiology of small intestinal lipomatosis.
  • Improved understanding may lead to the development of more effective, evidence-based therapeutic strategies beyond surgery.
