The Association Between Malignancy, Immunodeficiency, and Atopy in IgE-Deficient Patients

Patients with low Immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels have a higher risk of malignancy. Non-atopic IgE-deficient individuals and those with additional immune abnormalities face increased cancer odds.

- IgM deficiency (OR=2.46), IgG2 deficiency (OR=10.14), and CD4 lymphopenia (OR=7.81) were associated with higher malignancy odds.
Conclusions:
- Malignancy risk is not uniform among all IgE-deficient patients.
- Further prospective studies are needed to assess the utility of immunological testing for long-term cancer risk stratification.
