Collision-induced dissociation (CID) of glycopeptides can reveal glycan deuterium content. However, hydrogen/deuterium (H/D) scrambling during fragmentation prevents accurate analysis in most glycoproteins, unlike in conformationally restricted molecules like vancomycin.
