    Summary

    Transdermal testosterone therapy using scrotal membranes effectively and reproducibly increased testosterone levels in hypogonadal men. This method shows promise for treating male hypogonadism by restoring normal testosterone concentrations.

    Background:

    • Male hypogonadism is a condition characterized by insufficient testosterone production.
    • Current testosterone replacement therapies have varying efficacy and side effect profiles.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy and reproducibility of transdermal testosterone administration via scrotal membranes in hypogonadal men.
    • To determine the dose-dependent effect of transdermal testosterone on serum testosterone concentrations.
    • To assess the safety and tolerability of this novel delivery method.

    • Six hypogonadal men participated in a randomized, placebo-controlled study.
