Summary

Workers exposed to hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), particularly chrome plating workers and welders, show significantly higher levels of perfluoroalkyl sulfonic acids (PFAS), especially perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS). This exposure is linked to historical use of PFOS in industrial processes.
