Selecting foods from FNDDS when calculating food intake: Does the reference matter?

Summary

Accurately estimating food intake requires matching foods to a nutrient database. This study found that using the full Food and Nutrient Database for Dietary Studies (FNDDS) with digital photography of foods (DPF) closely matched weighed food intake.
