Background:

Colorectal cancers (CRC) are rarely caused by metastasis from other primary sites, with common origins including lung, breast, and prostate.
Metastasis to the colon from a thyroid primary neoplasm is exceptionally uncommon.

Observation:

A 76-year-old male patient with a history of papillary thyroid carcinoma presented with colon polyps.
Colonoscopic and histopathological examination revealed polyps consistent with metastatic carcinoma originating from his primary thyroid cancer.

Findings:

The patient's colon polyps were histologically confirmed as metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma.
This case represents an exceedingly rare instance of thyroid cancer metastasizing to the colon.

Implications:

The findings suggest that patients with a history of thyroid cancer should undergo prompt and regular colorectal cancer screening.
Early detection through screening may improve outcomes for patients with rare metastatic presentations of thyroid cancer.
