Area of Science:

  • Genomics
  • Bioinformatics
  • Molecular Biology

Background:

  • Spatial transcriptomics (ST) enables gene expression analysis with spatial resolution.
  • Current ST data analysis methods struggle with complex tissues due to cell size and shape variability.
  • Existing segmentation-free methods are limited in scale and gene coverage for high-throughput studies.

Conclusions:

  • FICTURE is a powerful, scalable, and precise tool for high-resolution ST data analysis.
  • Overcomes key limitations of current methods, enabling analysis of complex tissues.
  • Facilitates exploration of submicron spatial transcriptomic architecture across various ST platforms.
