    Background:

    • Osteoporosis treatment often involves medications aimed at increasing bone density.
    • Sodium fluoride has been investigated for its potential to stimulate bone formation.

    Observation:

    • Three female patients receiving sodium fluoride for osteoporosis were evaluated.
    • Radiological, histological, and bone ash fluoride analyses were performed.

    Findings:

    • All three patients exhibited radiological and histological evidence of skeletal fluorosis.
    • Elevated fluoride levels in bone ash confirmed the diagnosis.
    • The diagnosis of skeletal fluorosis was incidental, with no patient complaints reported.

    Implications:

    • Osteosclerosis resulting from fluoride therapy is an expected therapeutic effect, not iatrogenic harm.
    • This finding supports the use of fluoride in osteoporosis management for fracture prevention.
