Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) positively impacts bipolar disorder (BD) by improving inflammatory markers, specifically increasing platelet distribution width (PDW) and decreasing red cell distribution width (RDW). This suggests ECT has an anti-inflammatory role in BD.
