[Temporomandibular joint an insufficient dentition]

The disease of the orofacial organ is predominantly a dysfunction, the parts of the organ affecting one another reciprocally. All changes in the dentition disturb the balance and may produce occlusal disorders. For this reason, it is recommendable to initiate the prosthetic treatment of the incomplete dentition as early and properly as possible. Temporary biteguard splints (fig. 3) have proved a success.
