    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the feasibility and preliminary outcomes of regional hyperthermia using an annular phased array applicator (APA) for extensive pelvic tumors.
    • To assess the ability of APA to deliver therapeutic temperatures and its impact on treatment toxicity and response.

    • Twenty patients with extensive pelvic tumors received radiotherapy combined with regional hyperthermia.

    • The APA can effectively induce pelvic regional hyperthermia.
    • Preliminary results suggest potential for improved treatment quality and reduced toxicity with APA-based hyperthermia.
    • A randomized controlled study is warranted to determine the clinical value of pelvic hyperthermia.
