Abstract

Insights

T-cell receptor (TCR)-T therapy for NY-ESO-1 in synovial sarcoma showed initial response but eventual resistance. Beta-catenin up-regulation in recurrent tumors may drive resistance, suggesting new therapeutic targets.

Area of Science:

  • Oncology
  • Immunotherapy
  • Cancer Biology

Background:

  • Cancer/testis antigens (CTAs) are targets for T-cell receptor (TCR)-engineered T-cell (TCR-T) therapy.
  • TCR-T therapy shows promise in sarcoma but faces resistance.
  • NY-ESO-1 is a CTA targeted in this study.
