Summary

Surgeon preference for advanced energy devices in gynecologic laparoscopy is primarily driven by device availability, not surgeon characteristics or device features. Operating room availability is the key factor influencing device selection.

  • Device availability is the critical determinant in surgeon choice of advanced energy devices for gynecologic laparoscopy.
  • Further research may explore strategies to optimize device availability and surgeon education on device utilization.
