A metatranscriptomic evaluation of viruses in field-collected bed bugs

Common bed bugs (Cimex lectularius) and bat bugs (Cimex pipistrelle) were analyzed for viruses using RNA sequencing. A rhabdovirus was common, but overall viral diversity in bed bugs was low, suggesting infrequent virus infection.
