Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the prevalence and clinicopathological characteristics of segmental membranous glomerulopathy (SMGN) in adult patients.
  • To identify potential target antigens in SMGN.

  • Retrospective analysis of adult patients with biopsy-proven SMGN from January 2017 to September 2020.
  • Evaluation of glomerular deposition of IgG subclasses, PLA2R, THSD7A, and NELL1.

  • Segmental membranous glomerulopathy (SMGN) is a rare entity, primarily affecting adult females.
  • Neural epidermal growth factor-like 1 protein (NELL1) is identified as the major target antigen in adult SMGN.
  • Most SMGN cases present with early-stage membranous alterations (Stage I or II).
