The causal relationship between bacterial pneumonia and diabetes: a two-sample mendelian randomization study

This study found that bacterial pneumonia causally increases the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Reverse analysis confirmed GDM increases bacterial pneumonia risk, suggesting a bidirectional link.
