Background:

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) established Milestones in 2013 to standardize resident skill assessment.
Barriers to implementation of the initial Milestones prompted revisions.
The Milestones cover six core domains: Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Practice-based Learning and Improvement, Professionalism, and Systems-based Practice.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe the development and key features of the Pediatric Endocrinology Milestones 2.0.
To enhance the assessment framework for pediatric endocrinology trainees.
To provide faculty with resources for integrating Milestones 2.0 into trainee evaluation.

Main Methods:

Review of the development process for Pediatric Endocrinology Milestones 2.0.
Identification of major changes from Milestones 1.0.
Development of a Supplemental Guide for faculty use.

Main Results:

Pediatric Endocrinology Milestones 2.0 address limitations of the previous version.
New sub-competencies include health disparities, patient safety, and physician well-being.
The Supplemental Guide offers practical tools for program-level application.
