Chronic inflammation in benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) drives prostate stem cell (bPSC) proliferation and differentiation via enhanced androgen receptor (AR) activity, mediated by interleukin 1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA). This discovery reveals new mechanisms contributing to BPH.
