Sexual dimorphism in medullary thyroid cancer aggressiveness

Men with medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) show more aggressive disease, with greater spread and lower cure rates than women, particularly in tumors 5.1-40 mm. These sex differences in MTC appear biologically driven.
