    Background:

    • Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a significant concern in children.
    • The long-term endocrine consequences of TBI in prepubertal children are not well understood.
    • Precocious puberty, the onset of puberty before age 8 in girls and age 9 in boys, requires investigation after TBI.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the incidence and characteristics of precocious puberty following traumatic brain injuries in prepubertal children.
    • To explore potential correlations between TBI severity and the development of precocious puberty.
    • To assess hormonal profiles in children who develop precocious puberty post-TBI.

    Main Methods:

    • Retrospective analysis of 33 prepubertal children with traumatic brain injuries.
    • Clinical assessment for signs of precocious puberty.

    • The severity of TBI, indicated by coma duration and brain damage, may be associated with the development of this endocrine complication.
    • Further research is warranted to elucidate the neuroendocrine mechanisms linking TBI to precocious puberty.
