    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the effects of chronic digitalis administration on intestinal blood flow autoregulation in rats.
    • To characterize digitalis-induced changes in mesenteric vascular resistance and oxygen consumption.

    • Used denervated, isoperfused rat small intestinal preparations.

    • The observed effects are intrinsic to the mesenteric vasculature, independent of neural control.
